A very sacred place
This historic cemetery is frequently mentioned by people interested in Black History, history relating to slavery, and haunted places. It is lovely to explore, but, as one would expect, it has maintenance issues. It advertises "community service days" via signage a couple of times a year.

In the past five years this cemetery has totally changed for the better; once run-down and abandoned, is now beautiful and peaceful. This is due to an overwhelming community commitment to maintain, and support Friends of Father Dickson with emphasis's on understanding and respecting the first and second generations of slaves buried in these hallowed grounds.
