I bought a shade for each lamp and headed home to see how they looked in their spot. They didn't look good, but luckily Brody's has a 5 day return policy, so long as you don't remove the plastic. I came back in and the lady (Carol, Karen, can't recall) that had assisted previously took the time to go over many different options, and not once did she become flustered or impatient. Her primary concern was truly assisting in finding the perfect shade for my birds, and after about 20 minutes, we had them.
I could have probably gotten something online cheaper, but the personal service, and being able to view your setup is well worth any extra expense.
Went in to get shades for some amazing retro eagle lamps recently acquired without shades. I poked around online a bit, but wanted to see what the shades actually looked like on the lamp. I'm certainly glad I did, because there really is no way to gauge how something will look without actually seeing.
Just keep going past these clowns and come visit us down the street. We're way better!
This store is one of a kind. Its the only place that has replacement lampshades for true antique lamps; I took my grandmother in to replace her silk lampshade and they found an exact match within minutes. Very helpful and friendly staff. There was so much in the store I actually ended up finding a lamp to bring home for myself--overall a good experience.
The best lamp store I have ever been in! I brought in a 19th century oil lamp refitted for electricity.It had none for the fittings to accommodate a modern lamp shade.But they had all kinds of adapters to make it work! Don't waste your time at a home improvement store, go to professionals.
I wish I could give them half a star. Could not be more upset nor disappointed with their customer service and lack of understanding their elderly clientele.
