The accommodations had been superb; the food had been delicious; the staff had been consistently helpful and had made several special accommodations for our group that had made all of us feel welcome at this hotel.
I visited for a conference. Convenient location right next to the airport and somewhat reasonable parking rates. Friendly and accommodating staff. Pretty decent food for a conference, too! Overall, I was pleased with my experience, although I didn't stay overnight so I can't comment on the rooms.
Clean. Good beds. Very friendly employees. Good WiFi and TV's. Good gym. Good pool. Great food and bar.
Tonight is our last stay and I must leave a review because our time here has been wonderful. You read reviews prior to traveling and get a little skeptical after reading the few bad reviews and ignoring the other hundred great ones but I’m glad we went with the positive ones. This place was absolutely lovey from the moment we walked into the beautiful lobby until we laid our head on the pillow. The staff here, both at the front desk and housekeepers were extremely kind and helpful. The decor is lovely, perfect sized tv,rooms were clean, and most importantly the bed was extremely comfy. Great job to whoever laid the decor out here because the hotel looks 5 star worthy. Great home away from home and we’ve decided we’ll stay here every time we’re in town.
The only unusual thing about the Marriott St. Louis Airport had been that most of the meals during our conference had been served in a heated outdoor tent rather than in an indoor banquet room as I would have expected. Particularly interesting about this heated outdoor tent had been the very loud sound that would be heard every few minutes whenever the inflated cylinders that had been holding up the roof of this tent would re-inflate.
I stayed recently at the Marriott St. Louis Airport while attending a three-day conference that had been sponsored by a national ecumenical church-related group that focuses on social justice issues and seeks to include all people in our respective communities.
The only con that I have would be the bathrooms are pretty tiny and stuffed but workable and the water in the shower wasn’t as hot as it could of been(sink was much hotter). Just a heads up there’s a fridge but not a microwave but there’s one downstairs that you can use in the market area.
UPDATED 11/25: Pool is great. Gym is mediocre. Lobby staff are inadequate; I’ve been asked “Have I had any trouble with my room in the past 24 hours?” as a way to confirm my identity to get a new room key (not sure whether to say that I always have issues or to pick out the big ones; I ultimately did not confirm my identity with this question). I hate having to ever deal with the lobby staff, whether to address problems (cockroaches in my bathroom, stains on my bed sheets) or retrieve things (lost items, packages sent to the hotel). Room service operator sometimes doesn't pick up the phone. Preferences for rooms are never honored unless specifically and aggressively requested at check in (even having stayed in this hotel consistently over the span of 2.5 years). The newly renovated tower is definitely better than the older tower. Would never stay at this hotel on my own volition.
Now I understand why a tent appears in the "Google Maps" picture for the Marriott St. Louis Airport.
