The 'incidents' that happened here were of about two people in a school of (most likely) over a thousand. I get two sides of the story as well, being a white girl who isn't very popular at all, as I get an outside and inside scope of what's actually happening. The school even did a "Black Lives Matter" event outside the performing arts center one day where anyone could join, as well as a speaker announcement speech another day where a lot of good truths were said.
Horrible school full of bullies. I transferred out very quickly.
As a very soon-to-be Junior at this school, I haven't witnessed any racial discrimination or hatred. Almost all my friends are black, and none of them have faced racial discrimination or bullying. Although they've been made fun of before, it's not because they're biracial and black people. They were actually mainly made fun of by black and biracial people, and mainly because of two of my friends having poofy hair, and one of them having extreme arachnophobia.
Although, yes, Ram Days are absolute bull that was originally meant to please Jewish people, it isn't all bad. If there's a class I don't like, a Ram day shortens the class, so it's not that bad.
The cafeteria food is the best at any school I've went to, and if the school is too hard, do remember that it is the hardest public school in Missouri, and the hard part can be because of planning out classes before school starts. The math class system is bull, and it's too hard for me, but others can go through it with a breeze.
This is outrageous that bullying happens here! I do not think it matters what skin color you are what language you speak or what words you use. I think the n word is totally fine and is okay to call a black person that as well as calling a white person a cracker!
People are different, and some people can be mean. Just suck it up, learn to be strong, and go on with your lives. This school is great, most of the teachers are really cool, and the classes can be very fun and helpful. That's just life. Bad things happen, and we can all learn from it.
As someone who actually goes here I feel obligated to say that our school is fully inclusive. In the one bus incident the person was telling them to go to the back where the rest of their team was. Had nothing to do with race. As a biracial person I have never felt persecuted at any point here. The teachers are inclusive, ready to help, and are good at teaching. I have yet to even see a bully. Overall this is a fantastic school.
This is the best school I’ve ever gone to. The teachers are amazing and are willing to help if you are stuck or don’t understand something. The activities and clubs are amazing.
