I believe the main and worst employee of my experience last night was named Jeff followed by a bigger man with mustache. I am appalled with the Pageant’s hiring choices and I will now never be back.
It seems as though employees that work here really want to work here. Yhey interact with the guest in a playful and fun way that makes it appear that they enjoy their job and desire to work at this venue. Employees are quick to help guest find their way around the venue. Security wasn't very pushy at all and instead we're very helpful just like the rest of the employees that work there. Some of the clientele however we're not so considerate. Which further stresses how awesome the staff are that work there to put up with such tomfoolery.
I love this place! It's just the right size. The merch is in a separate area making it easy to find and purchase things. You can even but stuff before your show & take it back to your car beforehand. There are lots of parking options & many of them are free. I'm always glad when an artist I want to see stops here.
The bar service is also very good. Every staff member I've encountered has been polite and helpful. The bar has a ton of liquor choices, not a lot of beer, but they did satisfy my request for coffee. Literally my only downside about the place is that the drinks were pricey! $6.50 for a bottle of Angry Orchard.
Awesome venue with great views of the stage from anywhere! There is plenty of seating available but also a lot of standing room. It isn't huge, so it can get a bit crowded. The small size of the venue does allow for great atmosphere and, as I already mentioned, great views from anywhere in the room.
I have been to the Pageant a couple of times and am yet to have a good experience. While the venue has a nice set up, bar and floor (the pit), the employees and security prevent me from being able to give the Pageant any more stars. They have always been extremely rude and sarcastic, though last night it crossed the line. After going through security (which was 2 different ladies who were actually extremely nice), I gave my license to avoid the charge of being a minor... AND THEY SAID IT WAS FAKE!! My 100% real ID was taken and I was threatened to go to jail. The employees all seemed to gang up on my friend and I and aggresively kicked us out without allowing us one word. It is currently Sunday so I cannot call yet as the Pageant is closed, but as of now, I am without my ID and both me and my friend lost the money we paid for our tickets.
Very intimate space. Have gone many times but they recently banned all minors (under 21) from going into the pit (aka the main part of the venue) while still paying full price + minor surcharge. If you don't mind $6 beers overzealous security, you'll have a good time. However I won't be returning until I'm 21.
The surrounding area is also pretty cool. There is a ton of FREE parking. Lots of nearby restaurants. Clean sidewalks outside. And the Moonrise hotel next door is amazing as well.
